Alyssa-Mae Laviolette

Alyssa is a member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation in Treaty 8 Territory. She is a Trustee with the Board of Trustees for the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. She is currently enrolled into Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) through Thompson Rivers University with a focus in Public Sector Management with an anticipated graduation date of 2023. She attended Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna in 2016 and received a diploma for Event and Promotions Management, attended Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity for Indigenous Leadership and completed two programs in Project Management for Indigenous Organizations and Indigenous Strategic Planning. She has accumulative work in the event industry in planning corporate and cultural functions, continuous work with Indigenous business and building brand awareness for the external community. Her focus is to continually engage with Indigenous organizations and communities to modernize approaches in events, marketing and communication.
