Jaimie Lickers is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office. A member of the advocacy department, her practice is focused on the areas of Aboriginal, environmental and construction law.
Jaimie has experience dealing with First Nations on a variety of matters, including taxation, trusts, self-government, regulatory matters and consultation issues. She also has considerable experience dealing with construction matters and disputes, and provides advice regarding environmental protection and assessment.
In addition, Jaimie has experience with class actions and commercial litigation. She has oral advocacy experience and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Jaimie regularly presents at conferences on topics related to First Nations taxation, First Nations trusts, Aboriginal litigation, and consultation and accommodation.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Jaimie worked for the Chiefs of Ontario and the Aboriginal Institutes’ Consortium.
